Astroforge seeks to revive asteroid mining, announces first two demo missions

Undeterred by the exits of Deep Space Industries and Planetary Resources, Astroforge is the latest asteroid mining start-up to hit the market and has announced plans for two demo missions in 2023 to prove out their new technology. The first mission, to be launched on SpaceX's Transporter-6 in April, will focus on testing their refinement technology. A second mission, planned for Fall 2023, is also in the works in collaboration with Intuitive Machines. While Intuitive Machines' Nova-C lander heads down to the Lunar surface, Astroforge's Brokkr-2 space telescope will split off and take advantage of the Lunar positioning to scout for potential asteroid targets.
